Tissot, the Official Timekeeper of the MotoGP World Championships, and Thomas Luthi, a Swiss MotoGP rider, have joined efforts to create a new racy watch – the Tissot 2009 T-Race Thomas Luthi Limited Edition. The timepiece reflects the brand’s rich heritage, having been engineered according traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The Tissot 2009 T-Race Thomas Luthi Limited Edition replica watch is dominated by black and silver with red, yellow and white accents, the colors of Luthi’s team. The sporty-styled watch features a stylized brake-disk bezel framing a carbon-fiber dial.

The timepiece is coupled with a black rubber strap provided with a special effect that looks like the tread of bike tires. The bezel features a checkered flag at 12 o’clock.

The case of the Tissot watch is sculptured in 316L stainless steel and measures 43.5mm in diameter. Its face is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It is equipped with a reliable Swiss quartz movement and boasts 100-meter water-resistance.

Tom Luthi, a 22-year-old MotoGP rider is to compete in his third season of the 250cc category. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the Swiss racer says he deeply respects Tissot as the leading traditional Swiss watchmaker and loves his new watch. Tom believes that number ‘12’ will bring good luck to him and other wearers of the watch - his lucky number 12 is featured on the black case back of the watch, along with his signature.

The new Tissot T-Race watch is presented in a helmet-style presentation box. The timepiece will be available in a limited number of 3,333 pieces.
