Thanks for the info on the sword, GRiM. I looked for the "M" on the blade, but could not find one --- just the made in Spain sticker. It was definitely made for display purposes, but would not want to be knighted by it. Stainless, I knew, was not the steel of choice for true combat swords. A "bastard" sword... Never had heard that expression used for a sword before. What exactly does that mean? Oh, the Deep Blue Master 2000 has sword hands. I just think I one-upped you there, bud.
