The heart of this new Carrera chronograph is the Mikrograph movement, a TAG Heuer in-house COSC-certified movement that is capable of 1/100th of a second accuracy.
It is based on a stopwatch from 1916, the first ever to time events to 1/100th accuracy. The blue chronograph central hand completes a full rotation of the dial every second!
The case, in 18kt rose gold, measures 43mm. Both crystals are AR-coated sapphire. It is water resistant to 100 meters.

I mentioned in the earlier post that the Carrera Mikrograph drew on the heritage of the famous Heuer Mikrograph stopwatch of 1916, the first timepiece that could time evenets to 1/ 100th accuracy. The dial layout of the Carrera Mikrograph is more like a stop-watch, with markings of 0-100 on the dial, making it significantly easier to read the elapsed time. Yes, the blue central Chronograph hand completes a full rotation every second, which is sure to be an amazing sight and sound if the Carrera Calibre 360 is anything to go by.
The movement is a work of art, with two different balance wheels, with separate escapements and transmission systems.

the Tag Heuer Carrera Mikrograph watch uses an in-house COSC-certified movement. The movement is equipped with two balance wheels, separate escapements and transmission systems. The chronograph balance wheel beats at amazing 360.000 vibrations per hour, at 50 hertzs. The movement is equipped with 62 jewels and provides 42 hours of watch power reserve, and 90 minutes of chronograph power reserve. The movement is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback.
One of the most interesting advantages of this watch is that the wearer can start and stop chronograph functions independently of watch functions. The watch is automatically wound, but the chronograph still demands manual winding when the power reserve is depleted. The mastercrafters from TAG Heuer connected the barrels in such a way that winding the chronograph also winds the watch.
